In the US, these come from PCNA. If you are here with a Euro, they won't be able to help. I assume you have to contact Porsche in Germany or the distributor who sold the car to whatever dealer sold it.

Anything is possible , if the right palms are greased!
You can get original delivery data (not personal details) for free via Stuttgart.

Unless your car is especially collectible , I'm not sure a $$$ COA would greatly add to the resale value.

But knowing if it's a matching numbers car with factory delivered options still installed might be a deal breaker for a serious collector. Unmolested examples are obviously getting rarer.

Not sure what you mean by this statement.

Is that Porsche AG or PCNA? I doubt Porsche will advertise records in Excllence, so I assume PCNA. If PCNA, they only have records on US cars.

Correct - the Tazzieman approach is the best I can think of - i.e., Stuttgart - but do not know how to do this.

I just think with the way older P cars have gone (356s and early 911s) originality is something to be valued , if you are looking at these cars as an investment in $ terms - as opposed to use and enjoy!

Once you start adding and subtracting stuff , the provenance value decreases...of course hanging on to old bits like seats and wheels is going to help. Even thermal reactors, for the 70s cars

Took a closer look. In very small print at the top it does say PCNA.

Here's a link that will take you to Porsche of North America. For a fee they will send you a Certificate of Authenticity in a nice folder. However they won't always get it right the first time. I have a M491 car and they missed that on the first go around.

It might be what you're looking for, if not it will make a wonderful wall hanger...

How ironic that they advertise it so "you'll learn the original assembly specifications of your Porsche vehicle", yet by their own admission, they rely on owners to supply them with the information to correct their mistakes.

I've had 3 COAs on 3 different Porsches: 1986 Carrera, 1986 928S, 2007 Carrera S, and all 3 contained errors that were comical. Only 2 of them were corrected properly, based on information I had to give them. On the third, they tried 3 times to get it right and I gave up and got a refund. Good luck dealing with those bozos. My suggestion is keep the money in your pocket.

So then how do you get such info on a RoW car?

Certificate of Authenticity matches nothing on the car-Help please

I wish I had read this thread first and just saved some money... I received the CofA for my 1983 911 Targa. Other than the colors and VIN, nothing matches. Can somebody out there help me decipher the numbers?
The engine # on my car is 64D_ _ _ _, which is accurate for year and type of car acc. to the Bentley manual. The Cof A states 65301810 (M930/16). If these numbers are accurate where would I find them on the car and more importantly, what do they mean?
The transmission # acc to the Cof A is 1755191 (G915/63). I know my trans is a 915, a smooth shifter at that, but I don't know where I would find these numbers on the case.
The Production Completion Date is 08/07/1983 acc to my Cof A, but my door jamb states 11/82. Can these dates really be 9 months apart? Seems crazy.
Under interior material it says Brown leather / YG. What does YG mean?
My car is a amazingly original car with a mostly documented 45K on the clock. Akers in Seattle did the PPI and gave it an excellent bill of health and said I got a really good one. I love the car, just need help understanding what the numbers mean.
Thanks for any help you can give!
Greg

They missed on mine also. I called them and asked what A71 group was and they said"We don't know" . They also did not list my production date which is stamped on the panel.
Oh well, it is a pretty piece :=)

It's as if they threw darts and whatever the dart landed on the included in my C of A. What an absolute rip off. And the young girl I spoke with at Porsche was completely clueless about any of my questions. I'm hoping maybe I'm just misunderstanding how to read the thing and that somebody will set me straight. Otherwise I will be seeking a refund.

Coa

Just got my COA today and yes just mention Excellence mag for a 10% discount, big deal.

I read that most COA are not correct or lacking info, only really good for engine number but I went ahead a got one because I want to keep the car. But my other two Porsches I will not get them one.

First, they say car has faux leather, but my seats are leather. The color is correct leaf green but they say it's code 56, never heard of code 56. This is for a 1973 T, no MSRP, not surprised on that one, the production date they didn't have so they asked for a photo of the door jam to show VIN and date of build.

I have a option group of G03? What is in that group? Comfort equipment? Dunlop tires, blaupunkt radio, forged wheels, stabilizer bars, so yes if you want to restore it could tell you tires and options.

About getting money back? Do not know? Can the girl tell us the option codes and what is in the package? Or does anybody know?
