2011 Air Cooled 911 Calendar

Latest Update:

The 911 Air Cooled - 2011 calendar are now ready to order! You do not order direct from me but through lulu.com. This requires registering with lulu.com which is easy and simple. I have ordered other calendars from them over the last four years without any problems and they ship fairly quickly. I suggest to use either mail or ground shipping. Don't waste your money on expedited or express shipping.

Here are the price (shipping not included) and size for each calendar:

Price: $16.00

Size: 11" x 8.5" (11" x 17" unfolded/hung)

Order info for 911 Air Cooled - 2011 calendar:

--------------------------------

I have started a thread over at the 911/930 Turbo & Super Charging forum for 2011 930 calendars. Since there's quite a bit of interest I'd thought I'll put together a calendar dedicated to Air Cooled 911's. I'm planning on using lulu.com to create the calendars. Price per calendar should be around $15 depending on options/upgrades. Size of calendar is 11" x 17" total (8 1/2" x 11" sized pics).

As per guidelines at another thread they are:

Minimum photo size/resolution is 1600 x 1200 (high resolution pics to be emailed to me at a later date after being chosen). The higher the resolution the better! You can post candidate pics here or email to me at the address shown at the bottom.

Keep in mind that the pics may be cropped to fit the pics onto the calendar. So leave enough room for crop.

Pics has to be work/family friendly so no girly pics! Also, the pics should be owned by YOU and the 911's are YOURS. Please just cars not cars and people. No plagiarized pics allowed.

Since I'm starting so late the deadline for submitted pics is Dec 22nd (originally Dec 29th).

Yes, I obtained permission from CEO of Pelican for the 911 calendar.

We need to hurry as Jan 2011 is fast approaching. Thanks.

------------------------------------------------

Updates:

Revised cutoff date for photo submission.

Removed anouncement for air cooled engine calendar due to lack of interest.

------------------------------------------------

Send pics to me at the following addy:

(remove blank spaces and place a period in place of a dot)

Man, are you going to get swamped with photos!

Seriously, because air-cooled 911's are featured, at least one engine pic like the one below is mandatory. (Although I'm sure there are more entertaining ones out there - this one is almost 100% factory stock.)

Come to think of it, I'd buy a calendar that consisted only of 911 NA & turbo engine pics.

Now I can have a 911 turbo engine pic in a heartbeat look something like this only framed better. Just need to clean the motor a bit and get a better background.

Thanks for asking - we all want to see our cars immortalized.

Do you prefer just car pics, or cars & people?

What about partially disassembled cars? IMHO, those are some of the most interesting photos.

I understand from your original message that you only want the photos chosen to be e-mailed to you, for now I suppose we are to post candidate photos here?

Assuming that is the case, here are (2) candidate photos, of the many I have in high res of my current 911. I actually have a lower-angle version of the second one that I'll post after I get home.

Here are two for December..........

A little Photoshop to exclude the background would be nice.

I have several other shots.

Yeah, let's go find it! Oh, it's partly your fault for giving me an idea to do this. But no regret!

Very clean convertible. Remember that your pic will get cropped at the ends so the front bumper and possibly the rear will get clipped. The pic needs to show more space for the car.

Nice engine! Great idea about engine pics. I'll do it if there's enough interest.

If most of you agree then let's see more engine pics! The pics of engine must be from YOUR car or YOU took the pics. Like I said before...no plagiarized pics.

Cool looking turbo! Already looks clean to me! If you have a high resolution pic we can crop out around the engine bay for close up pic. Something to think about.

I like this one better than the other. The other one has too much "glare" from the sun. Maybe others like the sun glare better?

I prefer just car pics. Partially dissambled cars would be fine as long as it's interesting and it gets "approval" from everybody here.

Regarding candidate photos, perhaps I should be more clear...I meant that the pics that are chosen are to emailed to me in high resolution format. You can either post here or email me the candidate pics.

Looks like a lot of photoshop would be required! Please no photoshopped pics except in the license plate area. Cool pic though!

I chose the pic of mine as the sunglare really shows the rear lines of the body. (and the license plate )

BTW-I followed the 930 calendar thread and it really will turn out nice. Thanks for doing this.

Here's the "lower angle" photo I referred to in my earlier post

I can supply high resolution version without the front license plate, or show the plate in full detail.

or, if you are interested in details to contrast with full cars (same car, but w. Dansk 2-out & bumper mods):

I can't wait to buy one. Perhaps I can get a picture of some old school longhood goodness for you.

The photo I posted showing the "sun glare" was actually specifically composed for "artistic effect" to show the car in semi-silhouette (made easier with a black car) and to emphasisize the rear lines of the car.

I've thought the caption for that photo could be "...got tail?"

- Dan

p.s. to the other Dan (above): Old-school long-hood goodness would be great! Whether authentic longhoods or backdates, there's been some great one pictured here over the last few years.

I do have an uncropped version of that image:
