That's from the inside.
![]() Windex is useless. What type of cleaner really works leaving no streaks? With special micro-fiber rags or paper towels? Much appreciated. ![]() |

The only thing that works for me is windex and 100% old cotton towels (well used throwaways from my wife). Good luck.

I've found that Invisible Glass works fairly well. I believe that not all micro fiber works that well with glass. The waffle texture drying cloths seem to work fine. I suppose that anything that will absorb the cleaner should work.
Vinegar and water is purported to be effective as is just plain old crumpled up newspaper.

Plain damp newspaper. Dry your windows with newpaper ( no gloss) and while it is damp you can add a few drops of vinegar on the paper to wipe smears.

Like stated above, dry with newspaper as it will leave no streaks.

Sprayway. Comes in a blue aerosol can. Fred Meyer carries it. Contains no ammonia. Cuts dirt wonderfully, and doesn't streak. There is no windex in my house. Just Sprayway Glass Cleaner. Body shops use it.

For the inside, the tough old fashioned paper towels that feel almost similar to news paper, often found in public bathrooms, and plain old water. Wipe with damp towels, dry thoroughly.

Spray it on, wipe it off and then use a dry towel/cloth to polish the glass.

Windex works well, but youmhave to use a 100% cotton fiber. Towel, t- shirt, whatever, as long as it is 100% cotton. Microfibers are made from PP fibers that entrap wood particles. The wood particles absorb the cleaner, and the PP fibers scrub the surface. The problem is the PP has residual waxing that is released when attacked by the cleaner, and it ends up on your window as a haze.

Bon Ami Foam Window cleaner and paper kitchen towels. It has ultra fine polishing compound that get windows really clean. Not sure it is available south of the border.

+1 for Sprayaway, I got a free sample in the mail a few years ago, back then I could only get it by mail online but now the wife tells me you can get it at Target.

+1001 on invisible glass. The best window cleaner in the world will be useless with the wrong towel removing it. Newspaper works well to wipe clean, as others have stated.

dish soap and water. Use some steel wool and scrub. Then polish the glass dry using coffee filters, newspaper is a good second choice but can leave some bits behind.
I work in the automotive industry. |

I used a clay bar on the glass and it made a big difference. Ongoing though I just use damp newspaper and it works fine.
