Intake noise or alternator noise?

My 2.7L makes a noise like air rushing into the intake snoot. As this is my first 911 I don't know if this is normal. Someone told me that the alternator bearings could be dry causing the noise.

Alternator bearings about to fail typically emit screeching, howling, or whining noises of a metallic character, and a wooden dowel (or screwdriver) placed next to your ear, or mechanic's stethoscope placed on the top of the Magnesium fan housing ... can pinpoint the alternator if that is the noise!
