Specs to machine flywheel for 3.0 into 69 project?
Been tough finding threads on back-fitting a 3.0 into a 69, since the site doesn't accept 2- and 3-digit search terms. Among other things (oil line modifications, CDI), I understand I need a custom flywheel to do so, and that the SC flywheel can be machined to work with the 901 tranny and clutch.
Anyone done this and have specs on what must be done? Reduced diameter, reliefs need to be cut, or what?

You need a flywheel that fits a901 trans and uses an early clutch. Easiest is to contact Kennedy Engineered products in Palmdale CA. Get a conversion flywheel and there clutch, TO and pressure plate.

And I understand that Patrick Motorsports also sells a custom flywheel for this purpose. Probably others too.
The purpose of this thread is to see if anyone is familiar with machining a 915 type flywheel for this application.

you cut the center with the bolt holes out and weld it into a '69 flywheel that you've cut the center out of. same as kennedy does. much smaller clutch, so may not last long with 3.0 power. find a 915 trans.

KEP goes one further and provides a larger clutch face on their flywheels.
