Dead speedometer 1969 911
Just picked up my new 69 last Friday and was driving home when I noticed the speedometer was no longer working. For the first 100 miles it worked fine. Thoughts, advice and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Congrats! On your new baby
![]() 1st is it a cable or electronic Speedo, I am thinking that era would be cabled, If so it may have dislodged behind the speedo or at the trans. The cable may have shredded apart as well. Simple enough fix, I just recently fixed my son's 190E Speedo cable

Congrats! 69 is the way to go! Originally your car should have a cable. If you search this forum there is a great write up on how to replace. I would suggest getting the cable from North Hollywood Speedometer as all of the other available cables are too long and will kink. Don't ask me how I know They will custom make one for you for around $75. When you are replacing the cable make sure to tie a string to it as you pull it out of the tunnel. This will make it easy to install the new one. Also don't forget the two tabs that hold the cable in the tunnel. Good luck!
