Hey, I am the fool that did this conversion and I am happy with the results.

Why is everyone a critic? Sheesh!

Everything still going well? If you ever get some more HQ shots of your car, I'd love to get a hold of them.

They work fine! I am in the process of buying a new camera. Then I will get some good shots for you.

Dapperlighting 02-06-2013 10:59 AM

Sounds good. Thanks Chris!

My mistake(s)...

1. I used the aftermarket 7" "fake" projector assemblies as a "base" because the chrome plating on the factory reflectors was bubbing and flaking off. OEM should work just fine otherwise.

2. With the sugar-scoop headlights the clear glass cover is all that is needed, no need to re glue the clear lens, besides which the projector assembly sticks out so far that it isn't possible.

Currently working with a Plastics manufacturing/engineering firm to make the following look a lot more professional.

We also have Black kits for those who want something different. Clear glass so light output is not affected. Sorry about the non 911 pics. Would love for someone to get a set and send us some photos!

Headlight Relay Kit

Is this kit no longer required if you change over to projector style headlights?
Our host's product # JWST-911-HLPR

If you use our kit, we have relayed harnesses included.

headlamps

I have a midyear Targa, and not crazy about projector beams for early cars. Kinda rice for my taste, on an early 911. Personal choice I guess. I just bought E-code Bosch 7" DOT approved halogen lamps for a decent price. Much better than sealed beams, and I can't afford H-1's or H-4's right now. Seems like a lot of work/expense for marginal improvement over H-1's or 4's. My $.02.

I think we've done a pretty good job of keeping a stockish look to the Classic kit. Some people will die for projectors and some don't care for them. To each his own. I personally have them on my 911 with a 55W 5000K HID kit. Feels like they are brighter than the lights on my newer 5 series. The kit is more for people who want to run HIDs. There is no proper way to do it with the H1/H4 setups without blinding traffic.

The cool thing about these lights is that in the future they will help you fight the machines at night!

Hi Dapperlighting, so to clarify: would your projectors work for these type of headlights?

Thank you,

Matt

Thank you,

You would have to switch back to the sugar scoop style for our specific kit to work. There are people doing conversions though with the H5 style at least. It is possible, we just don't have any documentation on what parts you would need to make it fit. If you want to shoot me an email, I can point you to a group that does the conversion. info@dapperlighting.com

I do not like the look of those headlights but in my opinnion it is very easy to fit those lights in an european H4 assembly. It would be the same as the Cibie Biode assembly in the 911R.

Not a Biode but a sealed beam.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1377739909.jpg

You do not need to use sugar scoops.

You will need a 356 sealed beam assembly or parts of it.

Apparently these headlights are the same size as 7inch sealed beam headlights.
Then here is how to do it.
Use the clear glass of the 356 headlight and install it in the euroH4, it is the same size, install the 7inch projector headlamp instead of the sealed beam headlamp.
Assemble this assembly to the EuroH4 housing.
Install in your car and align the lights you are finished.
These are the parts needed:
Sealed beam assembly to use only the ring.

356 clear lens

The 356 and EuroH4 are very similar in size and function a picture of the two.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1377740618.jpg

The clear glass and the H4 glass are the same in size, it will fit in the H4 ring.

As you can see it is very easy to fit the reflector headlamps in an Euro H4 assembly.

Hope someone does it and post the result.
