Itchin' for some tail!

I saw the twin to my '88 Carrera today only with a tail. I do like the "clean" look of my car without a spoiler but I may have succumed to a case of tail envy.
What should I expect to pay for an O.E.M. used tail? I realize prices will be different for a complete with lid vs. without lid.
PAR has one, O.E.M with lid in black that I would have to paint to match my color (silver) for $950.
I seem to remember seeing some for sale on Rennlist etc. for around $400 ~ $700.
I haven't forgot that I'll have to add a front spoiler as well $$$$!
When does it ever end?

Me: "You're the king tiny E!"
Tiny Elvis: "I'm just saying it's a big tail that's all"

This is something I can answer! Yes its a turbo, tea tray tail. Your rear had better be wide or it will not look right. Just my opinion.

HEY! I think I have this figured out. Some guys like tails shaped one way, some guys like them shaped another way. But ALL tails are (relatively speaking) desirable?

It appears to be an "extended" turbo spoiler. . to fit extra large intercoolers I suppose. Best for a FAT bottom girl. . .even Elvis thinks it Big.

Thanks everyone. I should be more specific about what I am looking for. I am interested in an factory "Carrera" style tail.
I found this one one e-bay. It's the right color but has the third brake light mount for the Cabriolet and some minor scratches.
Already over $500.

I was very lucky this weekend in picking up a Carrera tail from Rich911E in SD on saturday for a mere 200$. The rubber lip is in great shape, and the fiberglass portion is the only question mark. It needed some fiberglass repair, which as you probably know, is not only easy but fun. Mix resin, cut a piece of the sheet off, dip and apply. Wait a day, then sand. It's now quite strong.

I do not know if the glass part is OEM, but I will say it's very thin and very light. Very thin. If it's not OEM and is thinner than OEM, then I'll say I'm happier than I would be otherwise.

The non OEM tail I had weighed a ton. And the non oem carrera tail I looked at at Perf Products also weighed a ton. Unbelievably heavy.

It's painted as of yesterday. I have to sand with 2000 grit and polish then I'll post pics. Best if you hang around and look for a deal. I was doing cartwheels all day yesterday at having gotten this deal--wanted a factory carrera tail (had all glass tail took it off) for a while, but was looking for the right deal and now finally have one. They can be had for cheap and maybe they'll need some work, so keep your eyes open.

I have one of those extended tails I just took off my SC. It looked OK, just a little too long for the stock fendered car. It is for sale BTW, it is black with fresh paint, but it shows what look like stress cracks. Might just be the paint cracked, i don't know. Rubber is in good shape, price is around $200 depending on If I had to ship it. It is a one piece tail/decklid all in fiberglass.
