installing Cylinders
I've read two books one states to wet the copper gasket with case sealer the other one says don't -- ok guys which is it?

I wet mine with copper coat gasket dressing. Not case sealer. If you're just putting cylinders on, then you will be installing more gaskets. Might make sense to use gasket dressing stuff.

Er...dressing? Is it like copper paste? What about the top gasket should I put something to the aluminium gasket?

The copper base gaskets should be installed dry. What aluminum gasket are you talking about? A head gasket?

yes, the head gasket. But youre saying those gaskets should be installed dry? Is there a wrong way to install those
 ? I mean can you install the gaskets ...well, upside down? (Does it matter?)

What engine are you working on that uses a head gasket? I've never worked on a 911 engine that used a head gasket but I'm confident you should install those dry as well. There's no gasket goo I know of that would survive there.
As for the base gaskets, it doesn't matter which side is up, but there should be four little cut-outs which are there to clear the head studs. It's sometimes a little frustrating to keep them lined up. Also, double-check to make sure you have the same number of them under each cylinder. |

HMm, "aluminium rings" that are located between cylinder and cylinder heads are not gaskets? copper rings should have openings for head studs? They are round rings that are not in the way of head studs.
Well, I suppose i install them dry. |

Although most are installed dry I suppose, yes you can use gasket dressing on the copper cylinder base gaskets. Those are the ones with the holes for head studs to go through.
At the top of the cylinder is an aluminum sealing ring with a tiny spring inside it. Don't use anything on this.
