Another new Join the Club Member !!!

I have had a 1969 912 Soft Window Targa Porsche sitting in my garage for the past five years, just waiting for the right time and money to start it's restoration. I found this 1987 Carrera Targa for sale in Jacksonville, a few hours from me. The dealer had it on consignment for the past few years. It sat mostly in his show room getting moved from one spot to the next. The owner was not wanting to get REAL on price. It had been off the road since 2004, I'm unsure why as it run great and has 90k miles on it. I think the owner got a newer TOY and this one got parked in the garage !!! It has had some paint work on the front fenders but no structural damage. The dealer that had the car has done all the services done for the past 12 years, only one other owner. The Porsche was originally sold in Miami and has been in Florida it whole life. I drove it very careful home as the tires had a code date of the fifth week of 2000. They looked OK with little dry-rot, so I think it has lead a sheltered life !!!

So first order of business was to put a order into Tire Rack for some new tires. For some reason it's hard to find tires to fit 15 inch rims. so I went with a set of Kumho tires for now. Which were ordered on Monday and delivered on Tuesday and mounted today !!

So far everything works except the clock and the drivers side power door lock. It will unlock but won't lock

He's a few photos before the tires were replaced and the front end was dropped 3"

Has a neat Bromus sticker from 2003 !!

Nice color. It looks like it's in excellent condition too.
How much did you pay?
Is the rear wing original?

Is that the original colour? If so, was it a special order? I don't recall yellow being one of the factory colours in 87.

Love that color It's called Summer Yellow B1 V9 on targa. 1987-88 was only year, they did have a Talbot yellow until about 1980 I think.

As far as I have found it's a one year only color, it's called Summer Yellow. It is yellow everywhere, even under the undercoating. Just currious on how many Yellow Carrera's were made in 87??

I think the whale tail is original as its got a Porsche Crest molded into it. I think the only non-stock item is the 15" wheels as they are 7 and 8" wide.

I have a soft spot for Yellow cars as my Dad had a Yellow 48 Ford pick-up. Plus they are easy to spot in a parking lot.
