GT racing, TRE, MA Shaw, fiberglass fit?
I'm looking for feedback on who has the best fit for fiberglass bumpers and deck w/ integrated spoiler.
Any input?

Front and rear bumpers
I just bought the front and rear f/g rsr style bumpers for my 75 911s with sc flairs, from TRE and both of them are just about bolt on.
They come fresh from the mold and are quite flexible for ease of fitting, and most importantly, Dave is a phone Call away for sage advise for the rookie(me). I fooled around with a bumper that could be made to work, but I think it was for a later model Carrera. When I got dave's it was an entirely different experience, much more forgiving for the novice. TRE is my pick Good luck with your project Kevin |

Deck with spoiler
If your looking for a duck, TRE is now attaching a ducktail to your steel decklid.
As you can tell by now I prefer working with TRE because of the support after you buy their product. Plus when you're there, you get to check out all of their cool projects! Kevin. |

I will add that GT Racing stuff is NOT bolt on. Just look at page 6 or so of my build thread and you'll see what I mean.
Also, I got some R rear tail light housings from TRE that are very nice. Darn near bolt on stuff. \/ \/

GT Racing bits aren't what you want. Nothing but bad stories with them. Best in the business is Getty, which is the supplier to MA Shaw.

GT Racing is pretty good. You are the first person I have heard that has been displeased with GT Racing. Do you actually have any of their parts? All my stuff is GT Racing. What you want to avoid is AIR.

Funny, you're the first poster I've seen who said they were ok. ![]() I used Getty parts when I did my RS backdate. All of them fit perfectly right out of the box. I've seen lots of past threads praising Getty/MA Shaw pieces and don't remember anything positive said about GT Racing. My body shop man also said to avoid them (GT Racing is local to us, in Co. Springs). But again, it's possible they're producing better parts now. |

TRE IROC bumpers on mine. The bumpers fit very nicely with little prep work needed.
However, the "brackets" that come with them are very flimsy and are as bad as the bumpers are good. But at least the TRE bumpers came with something that vaguely resembled brackets. Most other makers' bumpers don't. It would be nice if they bolted up to the stock bumper shocks...they don't. Be prepared to fabricate some brackets that are useable.

I have seen or used Shaw, GT and Better Bodies. All three have been in need of repair and fitment. Either it's "close enuff" attitude or the molds are worn out.
My glass backdate from TRE was great.....

the suckage is large with AIR glass.... Always have had good luck with GT and Shaw.... Have zero experience with TRE so no comment... Anyway all composite pieces need to be fitted... to what extent depends on what you are fitting it to.. some tubs are straighter than others...

GT Racing fiberglass.........
A while back I bought a front valence and rear bumper from GT Racing. The front valence was a perfect bolt on fit but I had to do some work on the rear bumper to get the wheel well flares to match up. I assume that the rear bumper was molded off of a real RS bumper that had the different fender/wheel well edges. While it did take some work, it was not enough for me to want to flame GT-R for it. I would probably buy from them again if I needed parts. Very pleasant people to work with!

I was pleased with GT Racing. Nice clean white gel coat finish. They even had good customer support with my mounting questions.
I have both front (included mounting hardware) and rear "IROC" narrow body stuff from GT Racing and don't recall any major modifying to get them to fit. I just had to trim the lower portion of the front to get the wheels to fully clear for turn radius and the rear had to be trimmed to fit around the oil tank. Otherwise, I just drilled and bolted on.

What about Rennspeed or is it Rennspd? I'm looking for RUF CTR bumpers.

My front and rear rsr bumpers from TRE were bolt on right out of the box. Almost no prep. Even came with brackets for mounting. Not fancy brackets but better than fabbing myself. I would def recommend his glass.
