Help please. Wevo install G50 Short Shift. Driving me nutz!

Guys:

I've searched the archives however cannot find a thread specific to my issue. (except one by KTL which I now cannot find )

I'm installing a Wevo SS kit on my 1988 G50. All was going fine until I tried to assemble the wevo shifter assy onto the shift shaft in the housing. I've tried every angle. Tranny in 4th gear, disconnected the rear coupler, etc. seems like 1/2" too much shaft to fit into the bushing (new bushing and open slot pointed down).

I read many threads leading up to this install and it seemed relatively easy. I'm losing it!!!!

Thanks in advance

Teo

Resurrecting this thread, as I am currently having the same issue. Has anyone found trick to getting getting this sucker installed with enough clearance to get it over the shift rod?

I don't have one, but I think Wevo might help you.

I had a question about my 915 trans Wevo, and they responded to my inquiry very quickly and thoroughly.
