Throttle Body Vaccum Lines Connections.
For our '86 3.2
Does any one have pictures of the vaccum line connections on the back of the throttle body. Best taken with the engine out of the car. No P/N listed in the PET. Thanks in advance, Gerry ![]()

Thanks Craig. How many vaccum ports do you have on the fitting? Are the lines to the engine on a "T" behind the throttle assy? Gerry

Here is a little better pic. Looks like 5 ports total. 2 that are the ambient air valve switch, one of those goes to the valve by the oil filter and one loops to the port just under the switch. One big one you can see to the left and one lower one that the Y connection goes for the fuel pressure.

Just two more questions. ![]() The reason for this excercise is to run down a vaccum leak. I was advised by one of our members to do the Propane test, and by another, someting about a "Smoke" machine. Since I don't have a "Smoke" machine, is there an alternative smoke source for injecting smoke into the intake? Thanks again for your time & patience.

The loop is a vac feed for the switch, the second one from that switch goes to the amb air valve "see pic" and the Y goes out to each fuel rail at the back there is a pressure valve on the left rail and a damper valve on the right side.

Fuel Pres reg vac line
Gerry - that shot you provide from the PET doesn't look like my 87, is there a known difference I wonder? And my lines appear to be flipped on the temp switch - matter? ![]()

to your last photo question - I confirm the "No connection..." because those lines (qty 2) were left in the car when I removed the intake. And yes, as cgarr mentioned, 2 on the temp sw, 2 TB ports (where the "Y" and loop back from temp switch attach), and the larger one there on the left referring to my pic. sorry no shot of the bare TB.
on edit : I agree: nicht mit der gerfingerpoken :-) more edit: referring to my pic again, I replaced the loop tubing and the hunk/transition on the brake boost line where you see the shiny new clamp just to the rt if the ctr of the photo. That transition was shot on that pipe.

That is a creative way to save $100 on that pipe!

I am chasing vacuum problems on a 1987 3.2 Carrera - stock.
What should a Motronic vacuum read at idle ?? When the thermo switch heats up, will the ambient air vale make that vacuum value go up ?? |
