What parts do you have with it? There is a security cage that wraps around the unit at least in my CDR 210.

I bought one on ebay last year and had a shop fit it. The only minor problem was that the unit was slightly larger than the frame fitted in the car at the time. They got over that and the wiring connectors in about one hour. Message is, take it to a pro

Regards

Ian

I installed one in my 1983 SC last fall. I used a harness I purchased from BeckerAutosound.com. I have a pdf of the manual I found on the web and it has all of the pin outs. You will have to send the display in to have it changed so that it is viewable once installed (The SC is a vertical front while the boxer / 996 is at an angle). The radio fit with no problems but I was replacing an aftermarket Alpine.

PM me your e-mail and I will send you a copy of the manual if you don't have it.

I remember it being very easy. It boils down to the security / theft cage (which I disposed of) and a couple of connecters. Without the connectors you are dead. You will also need to figure out the security code. Becker can probably help with that, too.

- Instructions
- Connectors (including MP3 connectors)
- Screen fix
- Security code

FWIW - I love the 210. Fits and looks good in an 81, even though far from period correct.

Yeah didn't think it would be too tough. I will get the harness from Becker. There is a guy on rennlist that does the face plate mod so if he contacts me back i may just send it to him.

Did any of you guys rout new speaker wires? To me the rears see like they are running off one channel. I think a later style Blau (charleston) was added to my car.

Hey I used this guy........

I used the guy thats mods the face. His name escapes me but he was a stand up guy and answered my inane questions with patience........the problem with the face is that it mounts at a different angle in the original car and is difficult to read from the pilots seat in our unit unless tweaked. This guy will tweak it for you......reasonable and knowledgeable. Scott

I ran new wires. Beefed them up a little in size. My rears had been replaced before and they were wired for stereo. That is left/right and fader.

Just wanted to give you guys an update, I sent the faceplate to Jim and he performed the mod right away.
I should be getting the harnesses from Becker in about a week and will begin with the install.
If I dont freeze in my garage.....

I received the wire harnesses from Becker but looks like hey send the wrong antenna adapter.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram to which wires the spliced or connected to?
Thanks

Can you tell me or PM me how to contact the guy who did your face plate? Need to do mine. He sounds like the perfect answer.

TIA
