Do it in Gold, you can always take them off if you don't like them (maybe have a graphics/photoshop wiz draw some in here on you're car in different colours) the pic you posted is a pretty good one to do that before you decide

Nice car! I could go either way with the script. I eventually put the PORSCHE script on mine and I think it was a great addition.

With the fuchs and chrome trim, I'd do it in silver or grey.

I like her the way she is. If it was a narrow bodied car then YES do it.
An RSR car is beautiful naked.

Lovely car John. My vote would be the Carrera script to color matched to your wheel centers. I have a picture of a 3.0 RS in a similar color with gold wheel centers and gold script. Very nice indeedy.

I got the turbo script from a guy on this board, he makes them out of real thin magnetic material that stays on at high speed, they look great and you can take them off easy too, best of both worlds IMO. He makes the carrera script and shark fins too. Real easy to change the look of your car without making it permanent

PORSCHE script. I would consider the rear flare rock guards, too, but in clear so you can't see them. Those wide flares take a lot of abuse.

I'm thinking of removing my side script to change up the look. Decisions, decisions...

I think 'Carrera' script would add to, not detract from, the look of your car. Which is darn nice indeed.

Hmmm...
Initial reaction: yes!!!! Second thought: Keep it clean. Altenatively color hood black or just do a black stripe front to back!

Another vote for posting Photoshopped comparisons for us to vote on :-)
I personally would go for stone guards, and no decal... but posted images might sway the voting

I had a 72E Coupe in snow white with no rockers, long hood with RSR bodywork and the same tail. Blacked out all window trim and handles.also had black stone guards. Loved the clean lines and mean stance on her. Do not spoil your semi sleeper look ! My vote is NO !!!

I vote no. Looks cleaner, restrained and elegant without the decal. The decal looks ostentatious to me, like an old Firebird with racing strips and flame decal on the hood.

Thanks for all the insight feedback. It's been very helpful
![]() After sleeping on this last night, and based upon what I've read here, I'm going to go ahead and install the black script I've had sitting on a shelf for 2 years. I can always remove it. For those who have asked, the color is original to my car and its called Vipergrun Metallic (#249). When I purchased this 911S out of San Fran someone had changed the color to Guards Red... go figure. The interior has it's original carpet and vinyls. I believe the center panel fabric is original too, but I've never seen this pattern before: ![]() For go power I've deep six'd the original 2.7 and installed a super mean twin plug 3.5 (pulled from an old race car, it has a non-factory serial #6840161 stamped into it) with real RSR pistons, RSR heads, and old school IDA 48's. |
