electrical burnout
Got a 911(1985 targa) on ebay (mistake). Driving it last night and smoke under dash. The headlights stopped working and radio went out. There is a burnt wire at the headlight switch-any suggestions on where to look for the problemo.

Search for threads on headlight relays, wiring and switches. This is a common problem. You will have to get into the wiring harness with a wiring diagram and go from there ti fix your problem(s)....

Bruce, Welcome and sorry to read your troubles.
Okay post a pic of that burnt wire. If it shorted at the head light switch that could cause your head lights to go out, may need to splice a new wire and connector. But before you need to find while it burnt in the first place. Radio out? Okay how about the clock, did that go out as well, if not then it may be a faulty wiring on an aftermarket installation wiring??
