What is this Dizzy

I am new to the Pelican forum and am used to the 356 Registry forum so please bear with me. I do not know if this is the right place to post this question. In the 356Registry forum it is considered poor form to ask fellow members to identify a part prior to flogging it on evil-bay. I have been told that Pelicans are a bit more forgiving. I bought a stash of 356 stuff to get the parts I needed and included was a bunch of 911 stuff from a 74 2.7 engine. Most of the stuff I could recognize but the Dizzy I could not plumb up on Google. It is a Bosch LJ/GE 160/6 2500 LZ. Any help in telling me what it fits would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Steve

hi,
never heard that one, dizzy=distributor if pic is of a generator don't know what the slang for that would be. perhaps op used the wrong word to describe the part.
according to the part number i believe it is from early to mid 50's 356
regards, ben

Here is a pic of the dizzy in question. The Bosch number is 0231169010 and it for a 6 cyl. engine. Sorry for the slang for distributor, leftover from my past. Generators were jennys and distributors were dizzzys. Carburetors were damn controlled fuel leaks. Thanks for the help I.D.ing this puppy (thing). Steve

Welcome to the forum, nice to see another member from Santa Cruz...

Why would it be bad form? Is the 356 registry that stuffy?

But is it 'proper and correct'?

I survived the 356 Registry.....
