Is it just me, or is this thing crooked?

Torsion tube. This was taken before I blasted the car in '06. Just noticed that it seems to be listing a tad. It was cut from the car years ago . . .

Well, to be certain, take measurements, pics are deceptive due to angle/shadows.

The dent helps it clear the transmission, and is supposed to be there, if that is what you are asking.

It did at first, but then I noticed the corrosion on the lower left side, so it's hard to tell.

Either the left side torsion tube is lower, or the right rear seat bottom is higher, or both.

There are too many variables to tell from a handheld photo. You need to get the car on a celette.

Actually, just put a straight edge up to the tube. Run it along the tube and on different lines around the circumference and on both sides. You should be able to tell if there is a bend in it that way- there will be a place (or places) where you cannot get the straight edge to contact the tube along the entire length of the straight edge no matter at what angle you position it.

So why does he care if it is crooked? He must still have it then. In which case he can use a straightedge.

It's on a jig now. It's actually BEEN on a jig for a matter of years now and still refuses to fix itself.

So we're not on speaking terms right now.

Just saw this thread. It's definitely not right. But, given the make over you are doing, does it matter? Even if you were restoring the car, a corner balance would cure all but the last enth of a degree of alignment throughout the suspension travel.
