Check out the Fuchs of Death

got the rims that I posted about...

7 and 9" x 16 off 89 Speester with 11K on the rims and tires
perfect condition...some light scratching on the lips (like some one took one swipe with sandpaper) but didn't go through black
tire are very usable
16 lugs (good cond)
4 factory wheel locks
4 black factory centercaps
factory option all black
$1300.00

So what do you think?? like the all black or stick with the polished lips???

In certain lights, especially at night looks mean and nasty...in the day I could take it or leave it

I will leave it as is for now...

also anyone have details about this factory option?? they do not look painted...looks like powder coat...the front and back of the wheel is black...

But the ride is much rougher (old tires sitting around too long??) more road noise...handling is greatly increased...take a bit more to loosen the tail...EDIT: the tires were stored on their side for I think 3 years...so the rubber is definately hard...but they weren't on the car so I am not too worried about damage to the rim or flat spotting...but I do plan to get into some new dunlops or kuhmos...any recommendations???

let me know if anyone is intereted in trading for factory original or polished lip 930's...I may be game EDIT: yeah it would be a real shame to mess up a factory job thus the offer for trades...

I kinda like them.....I'm an all black wheel kinda guy though. They sound like a reasonable deal too.

Oh dude, those are so sweet. Sorry for the lack of some more intelligent response, but those things are phenomenal.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't polish the lips. If you have to have silver lips, just sell these and buy the silver-lipped fuchs. These have to be rare, and it seems a shame to waste something the factory did as an option, on not a lot of cars. they're unique, and they look so badass.

Aside from that, did I mention that they look so cool?!?

As for the "old tires" comment, the closeup on the front wheel seems to show some discoloration which is pretty typical of old rubber. I wouldn't be surprised if they had hardened up -- when tires sit around, they don't get a chance to bloom, and become brittle. especially sticky performance tires. Check between the lugs for small cracks or dry rot. If they've truly been sitting for a long time, you might want to just replace them and not have to worry about it.

Leave them just the way they are. They are unique - and just damn cool.

I like the all black. Look at the factory race cars; 908, 907, 917, 934, 935, 936, etc. They all have solid black wheels.

Keep 'em black - look cool, easier to keep clean and unique. Plus you did very well on the price.

Leave 'em black. When you do get new tires, be sure to remove the weights yourself. A scratch from some ape at a tire store using a screwdriver to remove the old weights sure would stand out. Cheers. Ray

Ditto Ray B - have them balance with the weights on the inside of the rim - much cleaner.

I hate the all black look. Unless you paint a red stripe around the edge, then you can race NASCAR :-)

i personally like the all black if they were a little "flatter"of a black, it gives it a somewhat "tough" look.

and........black out the windows and you're ready for the cannonball run that's what fenderbaum and blake say anyway

I like the look of the black rims for track wheels--and besides they don't show brake dust as much. Must be why the competition cars paint 'em.......

But for the street, the polished rims make the wheels look SO deep.

yeah I am going to keep them for now...

WOW some guy on eaby just bought a set polished lips with tires for 1025!!!! That is the cheapsest I've seen them go for...and the set was local!!! just my luck...

But then again I think it is fun having black rims...

My car has a potential buyer so I guess I will have to see how nice they look on y new chassis!!!

As for my opinion, sorry........all black just doesn't cut it for me.

I always look at 'fancy' wheels on any car (e.g., BMW, MB, etc.) but all black just looks too 'monotonous', looks kinda dirty, and without character.

Again, just my preference. As you can see, posters are divided...so if you like them - keep 'em & have fun.

As the famous saying goes....."Beauty is to the eye of the beholder."

P.S.

9" fuchs are one of my wishes to have. 9's are WOWS!
