If the wheels are in good shape you should leave them alone, or do what ever you want to them. All this talk about leaving the anodizatoin is pointless. Once you mar the wheels in any way they are just that, marred.

I stripped my Fuchs and painted them in the manner you are thinking of. I used a thread on "Cheap RSR Wheel Finish" , or something to that affect as guidance, (I'll also ad that there was nothing but praise for the work done on that thread, the very work you're being cautioned against).

They're your wheels, do what you want.

I ended up buying Rotas anyway and I'm actually thinking about repainting my original Fuchs back to black centers. Ha! Some of us are just that way

OK, I think you guys have convinced me to leave the lying to those without character.

And now my apologies on the twisted metaphor.

I will instead *not* remove the finish, but instead go over the top of the black centers. The ano coating will in no way be touched, and the paint part can be restored to black if the desire ever occurs.
