Need opinion, what is this twin plugs engine?

Hi all,
I also posted this on 911s registry.
Can you please give your opinion on this engine?
We found it from the old Porsche garage in Bangkok.
At the first glance, the engine number 6631274 doesn't look original to me.
The 6631274 is the engine from 2.7RS which I don't think this engine is.

It has the Merelli distributor and the Bosch fuel pump that missing all the plate numbers.
It has a set of 2.2S velocity stacks. I believe some one might have installed it later on.
The engine is now disassembled, I will try to post many pictures that show part number.

If that reads 911/92, it's a 2.7 block from a74 'S'.... edit, 911/93 typo....

Doesn't look like an 83.

The mahle 95P30 piston looks to be : 3.0L RSR 10.5:1 compression. Sweet!

The one real '74 3.0 RSR I had a chance to inspect had an aluminum crankcase, not a 7R magnesium.

Looks like you have a hybrid.

Engine serial number and case type indicate a 76 911S 7R magnesium was the start.

The heads are 2.4/2.7 heads. Port size you did not mention but I suspect they have been machined.

The 2.2 mag stack MFI is there.

What is the piston/cylinder diameter. Given the flat edge on the piston they look like a 92mm or 95mm. It is hard to tell without scale.

the twin plug Marrelli is period for the early motor but most of the 73+ twin plug motors I have seen have a Bosch setup.

The flywheel is milled down like an RSR but that is not too difficult to replicate on stock flywheel.

I think you could have a great engine assuming it all cleans up (lots of corrosion) and measures out in spec.

Well the MFI pump is a real RSR pump from a 2.8 or 3.0. Great find. No tags on the pump, bummer. Let me know if you are going to sell the pump!

What is the fiberglass panel on the MFI pump for?

I have the same question about the fiberglass piece on the pump.
I try searching for pictures of other pump, none of them have it.

one critical thing about the MFI pump will be the space cam -- might be other differences, and there are some real MFI experts here who can tell about them

You've also got the factory lash cap rockers if im seeing them in the picture correctly along with centerlube cams.

If your going to part this, I'd like to get the rockers.

Max, fiberglass cover was on some of the 906 E MFI pumps and 917 MFI pumps also the 16 cylinder MFI pump. I believe it was to cover the cam follower guide screws in the racing pumps. Photos below might help.

Looks like the early 27mm neck Marelli, the variety used on 906, 911R etc., not the later 30mm neck Marelli with integral adjustment bracket.

I see forged steel RSR rockers and center lube four journal cams - prob RSR.

Please post a pic of the front side of one of the cam box covers. Are they dark sand cast magnesium?

Burint, note that your very interesting bosch mfi pump is worth big money. Remember, it is maybe $20k retail to purchase a good RSR pump from Freisinger etc.

Also, looks like a gennie RSR flywheel. Some one went to a great deal of trouble and expense to source all those nice factory race bits on your great RS numbered 7R cased hybrid engine find!
