Euro ride height from the top of the fender lip to the floor
=26. front,25.5 rear? My 88 CE measures 26.25 front, 26 rear. It has the original 15'' fuchs and tire setup 195/65R front & 215/60R rear. Did the factory Euro. vs US ride height every over the years? Thanks in advance. |

I just measured my CE and it is 25.75 front and rear. Everything is Porsche stock.

I would say your car is higher for 'whatever' reason; the PO may have simply wanted a better 'in-town' ride...
I do NOT know why an '88 had 15s and skinny tread, and 65 60??? Sounds odd at best. Not really the 'stock' setup, is it? Sounds more like a tire size change gone bad........go back to 55/50 and fix it? Not having researched the CE, I still am surprised 16s were not standard.....I do think (purely personal) that 25.5 front, 25 rear is quite good, and comfy. |

All Commemorative Editions had color matched 15" Fuch forged wheels. 195/65/15 front and 215/60/15 are the correct tire size for the CE from Porsche.
The tea tray tail on my car was a dealer add on for the original owner. I have the original bill of sale where it notes the tail as added on before delivery. The original owner I bought the car from had every piece of paper and sticker from the dealer. It is great for car PCA concourse shows. ![]() ![]() Last edited by mystro; 01-13-2012 at 04:45 PM.. |

As originally posted 65 fr. 60 rear. purchased from original owner a couple of years ago. Got all the paper work etc. So MYSTO, are you riding on 195/65R; 215/60R's?

Yes. I am riding on the correct tire size 65/60. The ride is great and cornering performance is just as good as any of my last 911's with 16" wheels. I can scare/terrify my passenger easily in the corners. Handles great. Coming from my last car(Audi S) with 19" forged wheels, I love the CE ride.

Euro height is often quoted as 25.5" front, 25" rear.

+1 correct. This goes back to early 911's and 912's that had one height, what was later called Euro. When speed bump regulations were effected in the USA the requiremets for road clearance had Porsche change height, since known as the USA height, taller by I think 1" 26.5" front, 26 rear. Euro remained as originally low

Ride height has changed several times over the years, measuring fenders is convenient and can be informative but the factory method is the most precise and eliminates the tire height as a variable. It gets the suspension geometry where the factory engineers wanted it
in front use a - b a bigger # means a lower ride height ![]() The earliest( '69-73) street, front spec for all non turbo/turbo-look cars is 108+/-5mm for all markets, even lower is used for competition down to ~ 135mm in '74 or '75 US mandated bumper heights changed the US spec to 93+/-5mm(Row remained @ 108) in '78 US/Canada/Japan spec again changed to 99+/-5mm(Row remained @ 108) for '84 up the US spec went back to what RoW had been all along 108+/-5mm in back use B - A here a bigger # is a higher ride height ![]() '69-73 all are 12+/-5mm in '74 or '75 US mandated bumper heights changed the US spec to 37+/-5mm(Row remained @ 12) in '78 US/Canada/Japan spec again changed to 37+/-5mm but Row changed to 16+/-5mm lastly all were unified @ 16+/-5mm for '84 up
