when did Porsche go ducktail to whaletail
was the ducktail offered as a factory? option what years? when did the whaletail come into play

If I had to guess, I'd say that the first use of a street whale tail was on the extremely rare '74 RS 3.0, but for general use I'd say that the '75 Carrera was the "earliest" production application. The street '74 Carrera was fitted with the last ducktail. I think...

RSR - IROC
Donahue tested with the duck - First IROC cars were with the duck - Did some more testing and determined the IROC tails gave more downforce - so switched before the first race...
