Can anyone tell/ show me where power window wiring goes thru trunk to cabin
I'm installing power windows in my '74. I have the complete wire harness and there are 2 places where the harness enters the cabin (driver side and passenger side).
I found a cap/plug (covering a hole) on the driver side but I can't find anything like this on the passenger side. I hate to start drillin holes if I don't have to and if I must, I would like the hole to be where the factory would have put it. Does anyone have a photo of the trunk and wiring (specifically the passenger side). Thanks......Vern Photo of plug/cap on driver side - looking for similar on passenger side: ![]() Photo of harness that needs to pass thru to cabin on passenger side:

I was just messin' with mine yesterday. If you lay face-up in the passenger-side footwell you will see where the harness goes through the firewall. Not sure if you'll see it from the trunk. Did they have power windows in '74? My car is a '79.

Thanks! I took a look and there is one plug above the passenger side but it's currently in use. It looks like it may be being used for the stereo. I will have to look closer in the daylight becasue my current stereo is wired differently from the orig and maybe that plug is capped off. The wires are all folded up and taped so it's hard to tell without a little digging.
Thanks again....Vern |

If you reach in under the hood hinge, you'll find a large hole.
you can accsess the wiring hole thru there. Look under the rear edge of the fender, where the upper bolts go, and you will see a white plastic plug.( if it's still there, and not painted over.) Remove the plug and push female end of harness into hole from inside the trunk. It helps to heat the end of harness first. John |
