What color is this gold metallic?

Hi, 83sc, but could be a re-spray since I don't have history on the car before '96. I want to order some touch up paint online, but can't figure out which gold it is.
Darker than white gold metallic I think. Could be Gazelle metallic, but that wasn't a color for '83. I thought it might be light bronze metallic, so ordered some of that, but seems to have a bit of pink too it, definitely doesn't match my gold. In fact you can see one of the scratches that I tried it on on the drivers side rear quarter panel...
Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Cw

Thanks jrbennett, but does platinum metallic have a tan/gold look to it? For some reason I thought platinum was closer to a silver than a gold...

The 1983 911-928 color was Platinum Metallic- Light Bronze was a 944 color. Looks like your car has been painted- the wheels look like they are Platinum which was available as an option (code 347) but don't match the body.

I disagree.

Platinum (81)

If anything I would have said weissgold but you appear to have already checked that.

Platinum next to gold:

I forget which gold the other car is, I think it is white gold.

The color on the car is too gold- it looks more like Casablanca Beige Metallic which was replaced in 1981 with Platinum.

Thank you guys. I have seen some pictures where both weissgold and casablanca beige look right. but in most, weissgold appears too light and casablanca too dark. I may have to buy both and do a little blending...
Thanks again,
Christian

It's hard to tell from these images on the internet, but it looks comparable to Gazelle metallic, which was an optional color from about 1974. The color depends a lot on the light, obviously.

Picture from this forum, I think.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but did you check the color label in the trunk?

Thanks Jerome, yeah, i think i came across that picture at some point. The thing that swayed me towards trying light bronze metallic was, as you noted, it was associated with '74. It would just seem odd that someone would re-spray with that color. That said, it may be the closest match that i can find in the end, so I may just go with it anyway now.
Hey Dave, yeah, checked all of the usual places for that code, unfortunately that label had been removed from the trunk before i got the car in '99...

One of the things about platinum is that it takes ona definite pink hue in direct sunlight. In indirect light this effect fades and it can look close to silver.

Could be color to sample. Most shops can match color if you take them something to match to.

It's funny I did some googling and thought that perhaps light bronze metallic was the color - it was offered in 83 - but all the example cars I saw looked too dark. This looks like a match if you have the right paint code on the car still.

These gold/bronze/brown metallics are very sensitive to lighting changes though. Must be a nightmare to paint match correctly.
