Dansk Muffler Noise Level Query??

I have recently fitted a set of ssi's to my carrera 3.0. Wow - what a difference.

I also have an 86mm tail pipe / single out. The car is a bit too noisy and droney for street driving.

Would fitting a 70mm outlet muffler make the car quieter?

What other options are there?

I have SSI's on my SC with a Dansk 2in-1out and love it. I have no sound deadening in my car and an RS carpet, yet when driving along normally, it's not very loud, but when you get on it, it sounds fantastic. It sounds the way a 911 should.

84mm outlet - 2 in / 1 out dansk sport muffler. Will reducing to 70mm make a difference?

Yes it will.

FWIW,..there are two Dansk dual-in/single out mufflers. One is a '74 OEM replacement and the other is a '74 Sport muffler which is louder and makes more power. The OEM version is the quietest one with its factory-type baffles and 75mm outlet.

I just purchased a 2 in 1 out Dansk muffler for my '74. It's is the OEM version and stainless. I sent it to a shop to have it ceramic coated and it will be ready in a week. I'll video the sound which I want to do anyway because I'm going to video my existing muffler for selling purposes. It will be interesting to hear the difference when compaired at identical locations. My existing muffler is a 2in 1out Tesh which I think is OE but it is too loud for my taste.
