Gauge repair vendors

Hi all,

My gauges are mostly fine, except for my clock, which doesn't work. Many people replace it, I don't really care to, I actually like having a clock on the dash. That said, I'd prefer to stay local. There's a place nearby called Leo's Speedometer that says they handle repair and refurbishing Porsche gauges. Anyone have any experience with them? I've searched previous posts and haven't found any mention.

Thanks,
Martin

Sounds familiar.

I am sure Miami Pelican will chime in as to their experience with that shop or recommend some one local for you.

Here is how I fixed mine.

This is the typical clock failure mode.

Replaced two capacitors-$1.

Good luck,

Gerry

Handy with meters?

Like 86 Targa listed, usually just a few $$ in parts. Check threads here on Pelican and you should get the info you need for Radio Shack parts.

Ive also got a broken clock and have read about the easy fix once inside. Couldn't get started on the bezel removal though so any ideas to help get this going? Sorry if this starts to steel this thread, not my intention but OP my decide to try self repair too.
