Smile Schubee-fuchs question

Saw a pic of your fuchs. Nice finish. Where'd you have them done? Any more pics? I live in Manhattan Beach, and currently looking for Fuchs 16x7,9. Also will need someplace to paint/polish them.

thanks
tom

Tom,

Call Al Reed in Anaheim at 714 632 3907. He is the best. I've had 2 sets of wheels done by him and am extremely pleased. Excellent work at very reasonable prices.

(I sound like an Al Reed commercial these days).

I thought I was the Al Reed commercial?!

Al's the best....perfect work at reasonable price, NO attitude (Wheel Enhancement).

Had 3 sets done by Al so far...one more set at his shop right now....am trying a rough finish on the spokes of a set of early deep 6's..

What is the cost for Al to do a set of 15x7, is chrome better then polish?

In my opinion, chrome looks too bright when it's new, and then can delaminate over time. Polishing requires more maintenance, but can always be freshened up with Mother's Mag Polish.

Al Reed charges $50 a wheel for the old style polished rim and spokes, with black-painted insets. Clearcoating the wheels almost doubles that cost, and had trade-offs. It protects the wheels, until something scrapes the clearcoat, and then there's nothing to do short of stripping the clearcoat.

Tom,

Thanks for your compliment. I actually found a shop near my employer in Santa Ana. Sounds like Al Reed in Anaheim is your best bet. I paid $250 for the four fuchs refurbished. I had the centers painted black and the lips polished. I'll be selling my 6's and 7's next week. (Anyone interested?) I just bought some 7's and 8's from MMarsh. It's getting painted right now from red to black.

Thanks again....
