Quiet a M&K Exhaust?

Rennsport Reunion is this month!!

But it will be a 7hr drive for me. Is there a way to add something to quiet my 2 in and 1 out exhaust instead of adding a stock muffler. I really do not want to have to wear ear plugs for 7hrs.

Thanks

Only option is to swap it out for something else....

Check with RarlyL8, he may have some ideas. Resonator etc?

From Brian at RarlyL8 (this was for a 2in 2out though):

"There are a few things we can do to combat drone. Capping one tailpipe will kill it dead. We have internal caps that are hidden or external that can be removed more easily. Baffles also help, we have static or active types. Active open at ~3000rpm so no noise reduction after that.
Caps are $30, static baffles $120/set, active baffles $210/set."

Wow I'm surprised to hear this - my 2 in 1 out M&K with SSI headers isn't bothersome at all! I'm more concerned with annoying the neighbors on the 6am morning drive to the gym than I am at highway speeds where it has a nice even rumble. GF and I drove cross country with it.

If you had said B&B I would have agreed - that had the worst drone.

I wear ear plugs all of the time while driving my 911. Seven hours is no problem. Cheap, easy, quick, and effective.

agreed. I think the 2 in 1 out with SSI's is bloody perfect. the 2 in 2 out was too much. I have a new engine bay soundpad, and the interior is stock, munis a reat seat back delete.

I'm afraid there isn't much you can do for a single out to quiet it down. We do have short tailpipe baffles that knock it down a notch but nothing extreme. Cruising at highway speeds really shouldn't be bad if the sound pads are still mounted in your car. I've never worn earplugs but everyone has different preferences.

The M&K 1 in / 1 out is perfect. Not too loud, not too soft.

Don't get me wrong I love the sound of it, (I do have others say it's too loud) but a long trip of it might be much. I think I will just use ear buds.

Curious if this link works. I shot this last night on my cell phone, and it was placed right on the dash next to the windshield. No editing, straight raw file to IG. Let me know if it works.

My 2 in 1 out w/SSIs is about the same as the old Dansk Sport w/Fabspeed bypass. Above 3K and 1/2 throttle, different story, pure music, but loud like the video.

My laptop went into auto-reboot when these words appeared in the same sentence.
"Quiet M&K Exhaust?"

Unless you will be driving in a tunnel for 7 hours; that doesn't count.
