Who is using MetalMaster pads and what are your thoughts?

I have heard that Metal Master pads work well on the 911 but I haven't seen them discussed much on this BBS. What are your exxperiences with them? Do you have any experience using them on the track?

Pagid Orange is also recommended but I cannot seem to find a good, competatively priced source.

Thanks.

I have them but not on my porsche

I have used Metal Masters on my miata for the last two sets. They work great at the autocross very little faid and I was supprised to find that they kick up very little brake dust on the street. All in all I will replace the Porsches with them the next time they are due.

that's the "house" pad here, unless otherwise requested. they don't tend to squeek, even with no anti-squeek on them, and the wheels stay clean. they're on the soft side, so the response is good, and the rotors last longer.

They are big with the BMW crowd as well which is how I first learned of them. I have used them on my 911's and really like them since they are clean, not noisy and seem to have excellent performance. I don't do DE's or autocrossing though.

Thumbs up

I've used them for 15 years on the SC. Very good pad for my type driving (very little track time). Really appreciate the no-dust quality. Makes wheel cleanup a breeze.

I've used them on my Carrera for years. They are excellent pads and the price is good. No squealing, very little dust and no fade except at the track. Even then they hold up pretty well. I pop in a set of KFP mags or Pagid for DE, but always just leave in the MM pads for Autox and street duty.

I switched to PBR Metalmasters (from our host, of course) last fall. I've only done one DE with them but I was pleasantly surprised. At high speed, when they are hot and I'm braking aggressively, they will sing like a canary....lets you know they're working .

For the street, they are silent and brake dust is minimal (a real pleasure compared to Pagids or Textars). They do not seem as grabby as the dustier pads though. Requires a bit more pedal effort (almost negligible) but I find that I actually prefer that. I have never experienced brake fade with them (mostly street use so far).

Inexpensive, quiet, and almost dust-free. Hard to go wrong in my book.

I have them and love them. I use to run ferrado auto-x pads and they tended to fad when hot. They also warped my rotors after 2 nasa events.

A good street pad but not good for aggressive track driving. I used these at one of my first track DE's and burned a brand new set of front pads in one day. They just crumbled. Use them for the street and use high performance for the track.
