A/C Options

I have a 75 911s with a VWP under dash A/C unit. The plastic dash pieces are broken and I've had a hard time finding replacement parts. I am wondering what companies make systems like this now. I saw retroair's system that fits under the stock knee pads. Does anyone make a system that replaces the knee pads like VWP or Behr vents do?

Your best bet is to go to some of the parts recyclers. Those VWP are impossible to get and I haven't seen anybody making anything decent for the older cars.

Yes - I think you're talking about the Behr under-dash unit? If so, parts are very rare. You can, however, take the individual segments apart and repair them or replace individual vanes. I managed to find enough pieces to restore mine, thanks to a Pelican and some scrounging. Recyclers might have them or keep an eye on Pelican. Never throw away any of those pieces.

Ya Jim the VWP is similar to the Behr unit (I think both were dealer installed options) the obvious difference is that the VWP has two vents on each side instead of three.

It's funny I've have talked to a couple salvage yards. One guy I spoke with said he had several sitting around for years but because until recently no one had interest in restoring impact bumper cars he basically ended up giving them all away.
