WARNING-Rarly8 Mods Cause 'Unusual Problems'

A few months ago I had some modifications done to my 89 930 Cabriolet and have experienced an unusually puzzling problem. I had Brian Bodart install his recommended mods for my car that he said would transform the car. The mods included his equal length headers, a K27 turbo, his street muffler, and his adjustable WUR, which was dyno tuned by Lou Smith in Denver, NC. Well, it did transform the car into a much more drivable car with much less turbo lag and over 100 more hp. The problem with these mods is that my rear tires started out with good tread but since the "transformation" the tires have worn out in rapid fashion causing me to have to buy new tires. I don't get the connection. Can anyone tell me how these modifications can affect my tires? I am puzzled.

Maybe the mods cause your right foot stay pressed closer to the floor?

Really, you can't figure out how your tires are wearing out. I never got more than 10k on rear tires while I owned my 996TT. High HP and negative camber to improve handling...well it means you will go through tires...cost of admission.

I'm confused about that place. So, John Forbes was the owner (thought Lou worked there). But, did it become Exclusive Motors at some point? Didn't know they had a dyno there.

Yes it is now Exclusive Motors and I believe Lou has a partner. Lou is a good guy and knows what he is doing.

I have no problem with the cost of admission. It is so much fun to drive this car now.

I spoke with Brian and jokingly told him this about my problem with the tires. We had a good laugh.

No doubt a loose nut. I am 65 years old and my wife tells me I am still a teengager when driving my 930. Almost as good as the blue pills.

Dude, I think a class action lawsuit is in order. I too experience rapid wear of my rear tires and have a 911 turbo. There is a definite and provable connection. Dude, we can win this... Seriously.... My pro-bono liar says so.'

Do you have the same problem that I do?
The blue pills make more than my leg go stiff.
I find that if I swing sideways in the seat...I can regulate the pressure on the gas pedal a little better.
Not that it helps that much...I think moving the seat back a little might be of value.
LOL

Personally, I think any rear wheel drive car that wears all four tires out EVENLY is inherently defective.

It is clear that RL8 corrected that factory defect with his mods.

(or as others stated, the nut behind the wheel has spun out of torque).

I tried one of those blue pills, but I let it dissolve in my mouth and now I have a stiff neck!

At least my rubber isn't wearing out though...
