"stuff" on twin plug distributor rotor
Is anyone familiar with the "stuff" that is on the rotor of this twin plug distributor? It's hard like epoxy, but it does not appear to be epoxy. It's on both a new and used Jarvis distributor.

I guess it could be epoxy for balance but that seems like a rather crude way to do it.

I was wonder about balance too. The other dist is exactly the same. It doesn't seem as heavy as epoxy though, yet hard like epoxy.

Did you try contacting the manufacturer?

Jarvis tech
Their all like that, even the early test mule twin plug unit I've got. I think it's there to insulate the lower lead since it's not 180 from the top lead anymore and out from under the plastic of the jag rotor.
I was appalled when I popped the cap the first time :-). t
