Tag Heuer Clock Guage
I know I know I know.... they are expensive.....singer won't sell them etc....
C'mon, this is a group of smart and passionate Porsche enthusiasts... there's gotta be a way to print the tag heuer logo on the face of the dial ourselves or for cheap...I know it wont be a real Tag Heuer timepiece but seriosuly, it's all about the look anyway... any ideas? (sh*&t it's probably illegal huh?) ![]()

There was a guy on here rebuilding an older longhood to be a race car, and he simply made a clck face in an Adobe program, and placed it over the stock face as a sticker. It requires disassembly of the clock, but it looked great.
I added it to the 100 "other" projects for my Porsche, lol.

Porsche 911 RS RSR ST Heuer Style / Singer Inspired Clock Face available
Finally picked up my VDO dashclock face replacement dial at Littlecustomthings
Special Thanks to Chris and his great work. This face will fit and replace the original clock face, of 911 641 701 29 and 911 641 701 00 fitted on cars from 1965-1989. Its not the Singer stuff but it works for me. Subdials don't work but its also the case on the Singer one. Contact him directly in case you want one. Just passing on the message A. ![]() ![]() |

I can't believe that for a half million dollars on the Singer, they don't work.

I can make you one if you like, i'm using a custom design as block-off plate but no problem to recreate the clock.

Clock and Lap Timer
I just recently ordered a clock with a timer that was in an old Soviet Mig fighter jet. I was so disappointed by the fake dials on the Singer that I decided to look for something that really worked.
It may take a little refurbishment and some adjustment to fit, but I wanted something with a little more character. ![]()

Well, I really wanted a functional timer. The Singer's looked cool, but for one, they cost $500,000 (cause they only come attached to a Singer 911). Then I looked at the Hauer stopwatches, but they are about $5500, so I thought, what better to represent the cold war era than a cold war timer?
Yeah, it will probably look like sh$t and I'll have to pull it out, but if it doesn't, I'll definitely post a pic!

![]() I didn't even try to put the MIG clock in standard clock location. It's a very unique shape and would be a difficult fit IMHO. However, it makes a nice addition for a rally navigator. |

MiG Clock
Oh, I may have underestimated the size of the dial. I'll definitely give it the 'ol college try, but if it's a dead end, I may have to re-sell it. It's just too cool an idea to give up, though!

Talked to the manufacturer of the Singer dial no later than this morning and they confirmed the subdials never worked. "The small dials were nonfunctional." Nevertheless in my opinion what they made was a real piece of art! Just a little pricey at USD 2700 and even more considering it only comes attached to 500.000 car. If I had the money .... I would submit an order today. ![]() |

Oh now, if I had the money, I would driving the heck out of a Singer--nonfunctioning dials and all! I love the entire Singer theme.
However, I don't have 500 grand to spend on a car, so I'm investigating the Mig dial. If it works, I'll post pics of it. If it doesn't, I will probably slink away into the dark and quietly post it back for sale on EBay.

Just as an update--I got the MiG clock in and it works remarkably well. It's really a cool little device. Simple to use, keeps natural time and has two separate timers built into it. Best of all, it doesn't require any wiring. You just wind it up.
It will take a little Dremel work to make slots for the buttons in the normal clock slot, but it's going in my car. It's just a little too cool not to.
