How is this possible
As I remember this was discussed awhile back and porsche copyrights came in to play. It sure looks nice though.

I think the technicality they cling to is that you have to claim to own a full set of the actual books, and -- as such -- you have an (implied?) 'license' to keep a backup copy in another medium. I imagine it's an opportunity for someone with a CD burner to make a little money before the inevitable cease-and-desist letter arrives.

Well, if you check his other auctions you'll discover that Porsche isn't the only make they've done this for - it's less a sideline than a burgeoning industry. And if you don't feel like waiting for the next auction or bidding in this one, e-mail them - they sell them on the side as well.

True, and I'd say the guy probably knows that. Most likely he'll keep going until the lawyers from each marque (he also sells these for Ferrari, Chevy Corvette, and Pontiac Fiero) send him a cease-and-desist order, then quit. They'll probably contact Ebay and have him kicked off, too. But that may take a while, and apparently he's decided to let the good times roll...
Me, I'd have no problem with Porsche shutting him down as long as they decided "Hey, there's a market for this - why don't we sell these things?" Emanuel |

Actually, now that I own the beasties, I'd like to have had the choice to buy the manuals on CD. So far, I think these books are great, but they are taxing my already over-loaded bookshelf.
