help, pre PPI on 930 in LA.
i have found 2 930's that i am interested in in LA. before i spend the money on 2 PPI's could someone go look at them for me.
i have been looking at a lot of 930's and to do PPI's on all would be a lot of money i think one is in bad shape, i just want to know if it is really that bad.

930s are special cars, and there is much to know about them. I'm afraid that you will have to have a "real" PPI done on one or the other. I can safely suggest Marc @ Red Line Service, 310-280-0700, in WLA to perform any work you might need.

Ottos in Venice. He/they (John is head honcho there) maintained an '88 930 owned by a buddy of mine in Venice. I'm sure there a lot of others and some may be closer to the car you are looking at depending on exactly where in LA is it....LA is freaking huge as you probably know.

well i was hoping someone could tell me if this 26k 930 was worth having a PPI done or should i move on. its like the 930 i looked at here. it looked good in the pics and on paper, but i would not suggest someone waste thheir money on a PPI on it for the price of the car. it needed way too much work and was beat up under the car to go any further. i did not even drive it.
not looking for final buying advise, just if it is worth paying for a PPI. i am looking at 2 cars out there. one is 10k more than the other. but thanks for the shops. that is a big help.

Well, we could probably offer a little more advice if you gave us some information on the cars. Lots of photos would help.

Yes, what part of LA, it's big. I purchased my 1987 turbo about 4 years ago and went through the whole inspection process then. I recently completed a top end rebuild and have climbed under my so many times for maintenance or upgrades I've lost track. In no way do I claim to be an expert but if the cars are anywhere on the west side of LA I could cruise out and take a look. Might help determine which is the better one to pursue.
Ultimately, you should always pay for a PPI before shelling out the cash. Last edited by buster1015; 01-25-2013 at 02:51 PM.. |
