I have a 915 trans # 915/ 61/ 12 / 7770 . It should be a LSD . But when i turn the rear wheel the other wheel turns the opposite direction. This means open diff correct ?!?!

70SC,

Do you know if you have the original trans-axle in the car? In my case someone replaced my trans-axle with a non LSD rear end. I've been told that people will swap out the tans-axles to get the LSD...

The SC went right by me... What a great combination.

Thanks,

Not necessarily. It only means that the lsd, if present, isn't functioning as a lsd at light load.

There could be several reasons for this,

most likely, the lsd plates are so worn that there is little or no preload left and/or the worn friction plates are no longer grabbing as they should

the lsd could have intentionally been setup w/ little or no preload, which causes it to be less effective w/o a load relying instead on the ramps to force the plates together under load

Isn't it true that the trans should be in neutral for this test. If it is in gear, then the other wheel will turn in the opposite direction.
