Any issue with connecting the battery with engine & trans out?
Guys,
My engine and transmission are 50 miles away from the rest of my car. I'm in the process of installing some new headlights, and I was wondering if it's OK to connect the battery and test the headlights while the engine and transmission are out. Any issue here? How can I verify that the car is properly grounded? Thanks!

Do you mean if the battery is properly grounded? The car/chassis is the ground. Before you hook up the battery terminals, check the black starter cable for the starter in the engine bay that it is insulated and not in contact with the chassis. Other loose RED wires in the engine bay could have power when you turn the headlight switch on. Other than these things, you should be OK to work on your headlight. Tony |
