Stock Deck Lid Weight

I'm sure this has been written somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

Does anyone know the weight of the stock deck lid for a '79 SC - no spoiler?

thanks.

You can't just cut it off at that. Are you talking lid grill, insignias?

I searched a bit the other day when alphie posted this. Did not find a specific reference to the stock weight but did see a lot of f-glass lids stating "substantial weight savings"

From 7 from 9 pounds from your effort is substantial alone.

Thanks!

That weight saving thread showed the stock lid at 12.57 and the new one at 10 lbs.

be clear on exactly what you are comparing (e.g. bare or all up) -- here are some accurate wt.s

stock steel engine lid w/metal gril, no hinges (12 lb w/o grill) 15.8
Engine Lid, Al (no latch or grille) 5.0
Stock 65/68 steel engine lid (latch, no grille) 14.7
Engine Lid Hinge 0.8
Engine Lid Latch 0.7
Reciever for Engine Lid latch 0.5
Engine lid grill, 1975, plastic 2.4
Engine lid grill, 1973, painted metal 2.5
all 6 T-bolts, washers, nuts for '75 engine grill 0.1
both hinges for engine lid, bare 1.6

BTW, I recall weighing my bare rear deck lid at around 7lbs., but with a typical crap bath scale.

I have been wanting to replace my lid with something lighter while keeping a stock look. So it looks like the ali lid saves 7lbs.

Does anyone know if someone makes a carbon lid that looks stock?
