Carrera 3.2 No-Start

I just had some service performed on my 3.2, and checked for an intermittent bouncing idle. I had already checked/cleaned the idle control valve, but it was actuating fine and clicking prior, and I've had the issue since so it wasn't that. My shop indicated that the car was fine when they tested it multiple times. It went to a bodyshop immediately afterwards to have the fuel tank refinished and some trunk corrosion remediated and refinished, and a couple of other minor cosmetic issues sorted out. I went to pick it up yesterday, and it looked great and I was super excited since I've been without the car for 5-6 weeks. I went to leave the bodyshop, and no start. Crazy, because they had just moved the car, and moved it multiple times when they had it, and it never failed to start for them. It cranks but not firing, and I couldn't tell if it wasn't getting spark or fuel. I had a spare DME relay (always keep on in the car) and it did exactly the same thing. The car does have a SW chip and M&K cat bypass and sport muffler. Anyway, the car got towed back to my tech's shop and no updates yet. I'm wondering if it's something related to removing the tank, but that wouldn't explain being able to move it around prior to me coming to pick it up.

Strange behaviour.
First - check for a spark with another spare spark plug in a ignition cable and givin it ground contact, let a helper crank the engine.
If there's a spark check next for fuel spray from one of the injectors.

I suppose one of them is missing. Could be a coincidence that this issue came up after restoring the fuel tank. Possible is dirt in the fuel pump or the injection system due to the fue tank restauration works. Or either the fuel pump, ignition coil or even the tdc or rpm sensor died suddenly...

It turned out that the bracket mounting the fuel pump was tight enough to be squeezing the housing, eventually causing it to fail. I've been having intermittent bouncing idle and dying when pushing in the clutch, and my shop couldn't find the issue prior since it ran perfectly when they had it. It has been fine since I picked it up Friday, so I'm hoping that was an issue related to the fuel pump.

Interesting. So the mounting bracket was over-tightened. Hard to believe it could get that tight, but I guess it can.

Thanks for posting the answer to your issue. So often someone comes to the board posts a question, lots of suggestions are suggested, and the OP never returns to say what the issues was.
