Hello

I had a 914 with a 2,7 RS engine and some other nice stuff yet stock body and topspeed limitet by the rev limiter and the transmission oil temperature.

There is a picture in the big german 914 book ( Das grosse VW Porsche Buch )

If Porsche would have built the 916 things might have gone a other way 914 wdp !

Last months I had to work on a new Lotus Elise Turbo ( Thielert 240HP @700 kg @ droplink suspension ) and that thing is still boring compared to a 914 with a good /6.
Don´t ask me about the Boxsters
Wheren´t touched by thee original spirits ( only the shareholdervalue spirit )

Dr. Porsche was rather fond of brown, folks.
His favorite car color seemed to be green

Grüsse

Careful now, fellas.
This IS the 911 board.
The SCWDP folks could swoop in and remind us how pretty their cars are or somethin'.

You know you guys are terrible! Just because of this post I want to buy a 914 to put that spare flat six that is holding my workbench down in

Its all the worse as I know first hand how sweet the handling can be I had a 1.7 914 back in my navy days out in Alameda CA.

I remember going through the tunnel from Oakland to Alemeda. At the south opening the road turned sharp left and had a severe lip that would move you around at speed. A navy buddy in a "hopped up 305 montycarlo (ha ha ha)" was following me. I left him going in the tunnel but he was pulling me (catching up) coming out, when we got to the top I never lifted and took the bump at about 85, it just required a slight opposite steering input correction and off I went. I looked back for my buddy in the monty and he had dropped way back.

he told me later he thought he had me until he saw me go around the corner and he knew it was over.

Anybody from that area know if that big bump is still there?

Dennis H.

maybe 914/6 ?

I'd always heard that Sepia Brown was his favorite color, but I forget where I read this. This was Ferdinand Porsche, btw.
