The Ruf lightweight front air dam is made of fiberglass from Ruf as is the rear valence.

Hey Bill, I will bet you the silver car above that the lightweight parts were fiberglass. I own a Rug BTR the silver cum noted modified tuner car so no Ruf mechanical parts left however, I have sold more Ruf parts than you have seen in all likenesses. The Ruf lightweight under bumper valence that is devoid of fog lamp openings is fiberglass as is the slotted rear valence. You can call Ruf to verify as that is the source of my info further I bought and resold all of the parts Ruf NA that is the Canadian representative before Ruf came back to t
he U.S. through the Dallas group.

Not trying to sound like an ass, because you a valued member of this board not that you need me to tell you that but you should be more careful when you tell people that they are wrong out of hand.

I do not have the benefits of photos at this time maybe your neighbor was James Aaronian, but let me state unequivocally that the BTR (wide body) under bumper came in Polyurethane for the standard and fiberglass for the lightweight from Ruf, also available in narrow body. These were made for cars up to '89 do do some research. Further, it is a bit puerile to sling insults so keep it civil.

I think there may be some misunderstanding between what is being called what, but my experience is precisely what Mr. Verburg describes. The CTR factory Ruf bumper cover that I have seen is f/g. The CTR style underbumper valence on my old car was p/u and in fact there was an ad in the old Automotion catalog of two guys twisting it like a pretzel to show it won't crack. I do not know about the BTR parts.
It appears the OP question is still up in the air: Did Ruf make a fiberglass valance (CTR was p/u, don't know about other products) or was all its products polyurethane?(some were fiberglass, like the CTR bumper cover)

To be clear, the BTR came widely in PU it is what I have on my car, however, the fiberglass under bumper was available from Ruf. The CTR was available in PU, with the lightweight being fiberglass on both cars BTR and CTR.

I merely stated the facts, which you now seem to agree w/ your post Quote:
the valance used on the CTR as pictured in my posts was p/u, there may have been f/g versions from Ruf, there certainly are imitations, I made no assertions about that or about the w/b version. My other statemant was that the full bumper covers, both front and rear, were f/g I further stated that the p/u valance incorporated the chin as part of the valance and that the f/g full bumper cover had a separate add on rubber chin from Ruf, which is what is what I used on my car and was pictured.

I have the Ruf CTR 930 front & rear full bumper covers on my car; both have Ruf Serial number tags molded in and both are fibergass. The front also has the Ruf rubber lower lip.

FWIW, I had a Ruf front valence (not including the bumper area) on a 930 and it was fiberglass.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this.
After several emails back and forth with RUF AG, it turns out that RUF did make some valances in fg. I could not get any more info from them. I tried to get production numbers, how sold (cars they modified v. selling retail). They changed computer systems at some point and any information regarding fg valances was lost. They must not be very common; the US distributor didn't even know that fg valances were made. I was quite disappointed after I purchased since I thought all RUF valances were PU.
