Wink Can't get it to stay up

Sun visor problem, (What did you think I meant) I know, kind of a Mickey Mouse problem, and will probably have a solution that will have slapping my forehead and saying "I should have known that".

Recently added a 74 Targa to the garage, but it had no sun visors, OK, sourced a pair from a Pelican-oid parting out his '87 I believe was the year Targa, but they will not stay "up", the visors on my SC have a screw to adjust tension near the hole where the rod goes in, (Might need to rate this thread "X") these newer visors do not have these screws, solution?

i have the same issue. i think mine are aftermarket and have no screw. passenger side is good and drivers side droops. ive tried to make a makeshift bushing, to make it more stiff, but to no avail.

If you have problems keeping something else "up" then I suggest you buy a 930! Like an "older" gentleman stated in a thread a while back, the boost is better than the blue pill!

That is strange? mine has the tension screw and it should be identical to the 87 targa.

Can you post a pic of the screwless visor for the supposed 87?

Viagra.

Seriously, you probably have the aftermarket ones with no adjustment screws.
They're probably just a friction fit. You could wedge something in the hole shaft and try to stiffen the rotation or look into seeing if different hinge pins would fix the problem.

Is the visor rotating on the pin or is the pin rotating in the mount ? If it is the pin rotating in the mount maybe you can remove the visor and slide a piece of shrink tubing over the pin. Then reinstall.

The visor is rotating on the pin, and I was thinking that I could build the pins up with the appropriate layers of wide Scotch tape, but that seems like a poor (and temporary) fix, plus it would be difficult getting it off if when I find the "right" visors with the adjustment screw.

Pic attached, they have little sliding doors covering the mirrors, cute, but I would rather have the adjusting screws
