Running Lights Out
Hi,
When I turn on the the head lights in my 911, the driver side front and rear running lights don't light up, but the passenger side ones work. The headlights are fine. Actually, there is an issue with the high beams that's related to the blinker, but I don't think the problems are related. Where do I start looking? Fuses? If so what fuse?? Thanks! Ace

How do I check that? Do I unscrew the lights and then see what's going on inside. Maybe clean the connections and make sure they are secure?

Look behind the light assemblies inside the engine area for the grounds but also check the connections. You might pull the assemblies and clean all.

I would check a fuse for the running lights. I think the left and right sides are on seperate fuses. I don't have a diagram but I think the first 8 fuses are for the exterior lights.
Bad grounds are also a very common issue with all lights. Last edited by jrbennett; 04-16-2012 at 05:19 PM.. |

probably a fuse, the driver's side runs on a different system than the passenger's side. I don't know which fuse....you'll have to open up the hood and physically inspect each fuse.
Another factoid: the light under the engine bonnet is a common source for this problem. The light becomes old and baked, along with the wiring to it. When it goes bad or shorts out, it will cause the exact issue you are describing. It can be fixed or replaced, but the new fixture is a little spendy.

Driver's side running lights.
As per kidrock, your problem is most likely a blown fuse,
due to a shorted engine compartment light switch. Hope this helps. Gerry ![]()
