Show me your....good rewiring job!

OK - This won't be as glamorous as the "show me your motor" thread. There's another thread in the off-topic forum regarding butchered wiring by the previous owner and "pro" stereo installer.

I'm about to start cleaning up the wiring in my project. We've all got horror stories of awful wiring. How about posting pics of great wiring jobs so the rest of us can learn?

I'd be interested in that too. The wiring in my '88 is a mess that I know is just waiting to go up in smoke on Saturday morning at the next DE.

What year of car do you have? I could show some pics of my '71, which I completely rewired a number of years ago. Even though I made a number of modifications it looks completely stock to the untrained eye.

Partial rewire

SC fusebox replacement with one equipped with ATO fuses. Got rid of the dinky little VW type fuses and 30 year old fuse panel!

Nice job, Fred! Sure - I'd like to see your '71, Gordon. I have a '75 that's been "tweaked" many, many times...

Here goes.
New battery cable, new power cables and new ground cable.

On the other side the battery was eliminated. Top relay is for the 80 watt lowbeams.

Under the dash not much to talk about. The through the body connecters were a problem until I thoroughly cleaned the contacts.

In the engine compartment I eliminated the fuses for the fuel injection and rear window defogger. The car originally had MFI but was changed to carbs. The engine harness I made from scratch using wires and connectors from my old harness and an extra harness I got from a wrecked car. All the fuel injection and other unknown extra wires were eliminated. The original motor harness was taped, so it was easy to replicate the look. The connectors and wire colors are stock.

It looks like the CDI was painted silver.
This is NOT a good idea!!
The casing of the unit is supposed to be a heat sync..to dissapate heat from the internals...and painting it just holds in the heat.
If anything....blast the outside of the CDI and then paint black with heat conductive paint to assist in the removal of internal heat.

ISIS mutiplex install

This is what I'm installing, solid state, lightweight, totally programmable and easier to install , trouble shoot. $1000 bucks not bad for the price. More pics on thread, turbo rsr project , tech forum.

OK...stared at that for a while before I realized it was a joke. That shows how stupid I am with electronics...my first clue that something was fishy was the compass directions...I was wondering "what the hell is THAT doing in there?"

Where did you purchase the fuse/relay block from?

He builds them. Once he has more stock, he could sell you one.

I believe that I misread your question. I build the fuse holder base and get the fuse holders from a friend in Europe. The relays, wire and connectors come from my local NAPA auto parts store!
