This is the kind of thinking that racing needs! Jim Hall and Norbert Singer must've thought this way. Was it the Chaparral 2D, where they needed a minimum luggage space (like the spare tire - weird rule) so Jim Hall grafted in a bunch of small storage containers in most or all of the body work, and it added up to the minimum!
I remember the prototype for the 917/10 ran duallies in the rear, since at the time there weren't tires wide enough to handle the power! :eek:
