Man, you guys are a "tough crow" to please. I guess I need to make a change - maybe as Dan suggested - well see how that works and then I will post more pics.

Well, I'm probably not the guy you want to hear from. I dislike blue bulbs intensely (the blue part of the spectrum scatters and causes much glare for oncoming traffic), don't like DRLs at all, and I've yet to see an LED setup on the front of a car that I like.
That said, yes, please take the LEDs out of the H4s. If you still want to have the LEDs on the car, try for something more subtle like under the bumper below the turn signals. |
Put them inside the car under the dash .. kinda ala entry lights ... that is one spot out cars did lack a light ...
But with that said .. it is your car .. so you can do as you like .. you just may have a hard time finding fans of that type of bling bling here .. here bling is polished fuch's etc.... Now Playa76 will love this when he finds this thread .... some times he post this kinda stuff just to get a rise out of the crowd ......... |
Geez.....since when does one of the most iconic cars ever-need "updating"? And so close to Butzi's passing.....
New Porsches, Audis and such have these types of features, because they are new! They are an element that is part of a cohesive design-not an add-on feature like you're trying. Maybe some dive planes on the front corners like a new RSR? |
Agreed with the naysayers, sorry. The look isn't cohesive with the rest of the car. It's clearly an 80s car with big bumpers and rubber bellows. Sorry, but thats what it is.
Putting aftermarket Leds (which, BTW, don't look at all like those on the newer Audis, BMWs, et al) just looks like you're trying too hard. And the bulbs are also just bulbs with a blue filter. They are NOT the same thing as what they are trying to imitate, which is HID lighting. I wouldn't say boo if you did a proper HID conversion, because the performance of the HID setups blows away the usual setups, in terms of night vision. |
mount a small LED bulb inside H4 housing as daylight driving light.
i don't like 997 LED either. they make porsche look like taxi cabs in tokyo. audi should stop doing that also. |
Well, When I was fuchen around, I placed LEDs in my 3.2 OEM fog lights that I set up as my DRL's. it looked pretty cool updated but did nothing for night driving. So I swapped back to 35 watt motor cycle halogens H3's , the OEM 55watt is just too hot and tend to melt the plastic Bosch housing.

that one we will let slide DRACO ... that's just a bulb swap ... i don't even mind the blue light (even though it may not help) .. I was commenting on the led around the bottom ... just looks fuched up ... plus your trying to save the housing he was trying to"update" for the look ....

If you insist on installing LEDs, try not to emulate the look of Christmas lights. How about grouping them tightly so they resemble a solid block of light for DRLs? On second thought, it's your car, but you did ask for opinions.
If you want to attract more attention, install a loud exhaust system, but don't rev the engine at every opportunity. Sherwood |
Don't like.
|
OP asked for positive comments. I would positively get rid of the ricer LED's
|
Another positive: Good thing it's reversible.
|
Maybe you could
make them blink sequentially? :D
|
Not a fan, but only one opinion really counts in this case...YOURS
|
Can you spell R-I-C-E!
|
At this time, I've got a feeling, the OP has an idea of what people think. Tastes are personal which is why all our cars aren't painted the same color. At this point, if you think your ride is superior to his, please post it. Despite how good you might think it looks, there will be some nitpicking.
I'm going to revisit a thread where many complained to a seller after pricing an item too cheaply. Sherwood |
Hey Stormcrow don't let the negative opinions stop you. I for one would like to see how they look on the bumper lip under the amber signals.
|
Your car...
I for one like innovation . You integrated them cleanly.... Not my style, but who cares, do what makes you happy.

Nooooooo......
|
You ask... I don't like LEDs on the new 911's and I REALLY don't like them on a classic 911.
Oh...and blue,,,never never never on any car. |
