If you like it, run with it for a while. See how it fits you. Kevin (Quaz) played around with HID's. That may be the update you could really use? This is a great looking update. I especially like the driving lights in the horn grills.

Not a fan... If anything just use 1 bulb in the back to illuminate the whole headlamp as a daytime lamp.

dshepp806 04-16-2012 02:35 PM

I don't care for it either,...however: it was weird to see a recent Audi R8 with the same kinda' approach (half circle-on top).

I think that it's the shape (round)of the headlamp with those that distract me.

HOWEVER: I am a fan of go with what you prefer.

BEST!

Not to be overly critical but I'm not a fan of the LEDs. But, I don't like aftermarket wheels either. I just happen to think stock was well done and the 911 dosen't need the leds.

I do however, approve of modifications that are on the stealth level - like sneaking a 3.2 liter into a 2.7 car.

re "what would you suggest"

Look up the phrase city lights here and put an LED in that position so it is like the small bulbs that were used in some Bosch or Hella H-4s and H-1s.

as fashionable as a fanny pack on a middle-aged man with a gut (sorry)

911S Targa 04-16-2012 07:34 PM

Its your car. If you like it, whats the problem ?

jrolstin 04-16-2012 07:49 PM

Agree with everything above....

Am torn between the higher road, of saying; it's your car do what ever you like, versus saying WTF! So do WTF you like and be aware that you will be shunned, scorned, riddiculed, mocked, heckled, and held up as an example of a guy willing to do his own thing in the face of adversity.

FWIW, long time ago I fit city lites into these cibie lights. It's tight but obviously worked. If you've ever seen city lites they are old school but work as DRL's.
These come on with parking lites and stay on with headlights too even though it's not necessary.
Their brightness depends on the viewing angle. I like 'em.

Guys,

I appereciate all the comments and recommendations. I am going to give more thought as to what else might work - maybe.

Like I said previously, I am not looking to attract attention - just thought it was a different look. Anyway thanks again for all your support should I decide to do something different I will definitely keep it quiet - only kidding - I think it's great that I had so many responses.

Thanks again.

I wouldn't say anything, but you asked. Theres a lot I could say, but I think it would be best to just remove them and move on. LED's may be the current hot jewelry on new cars but they look even more ridiculous on a classic. Again sorry, but you asked.

Digital K 04-17-2012 09:56 PM

yikes.

stormcrow 07-23-2012 02:32 PM

OK, I removed the led's from the front headlights and installed them instead in instrument panels - here are some pics: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343082719.jpg

Arne2 07-23-2012 03:12 PM

Still a bit much for me, but IMO that is a MUCH better use of the LEDs.

stormcrow 07-23-2012 03:15 PM

They look a lot better at night - a lot more visible then the bulbs.
