Stupid question - does this tool work for all air cooled 911s (with the valvetrain requiring frequent adjustments)?

...and how do you know if I wasn't just a plant to get you back into production????????

No, just trying to fill the big gap created by your temporary absense. I am to new here to say that I knew you back then, but from this thread, it appears you have made your mark on the Porsche community.

I'm just getting back into the Porsche thing again. Parked my "72 911T 10 yrs ago, after driving it for many years, and just never got back to it because of family, career, house, kids at college. Then, 1 day I woke up and decided that I was going go back to driving my old friend again. Do you know what is like to remove 10 yr old gas from a car? BAD........

Does this mean I get I get "first shot" at owning one of these, as they say on TV, "new and improved" tools?

Ten years ago (pre BBS days), it was hard to get info on repairs and to find parts. Screw the "old days", this e-mail and BBS stuff is great.

How does one get their name on the list for one of these works-o-art?

Me too. Is one going to be available through Pelican?

Slider79SC 04-21-2004 05:43 AM

Count me in for one also. Thanks

ipapilot 04-21-2004 05:59 AM

Me too, me too... I want one!

TerryH 04-21-2004 06:07 AM

How about a Paypal account setup for pre-orders? Easy way to provide on a first come first serve basis. I don't even know how to adjust my valves yet, but I want one! :)

jhoagg 04-21-2004 06:30 AM

I would like one also. Thanks.

TurboBert 04-21-2004 09:03 PM

Me six.

Pelican Parts,

Are you stocking these yet? If so might want to post in this thread, I'd like to have one with my next order. Thanks

iamchappy 05-24-2004 07:48 AM

Please add me to the list. Too many broken blades, used a dozen on my last adjustment. And also lost a dropped tiny screw.

I had a thought on another approach to a tool design maybe worth consideration, Why not a .004 wire used in the same manner as dental floss, either with a holder or loop it around your fingers the old fashioned way.

What's up with this tool? Since I have yet to adjust my valves, I imagine I need to buy one of these, but this thread is several months old. Are the tools still available?

Last valve job I lost one of those tiny screw thingies on the factory tool (I know I should have glued it on)...PIA.....
I am still regretting the fateful day I doubted Islands engineering skill during his beta batch sign up.

"Should I buy one of these dumb little things designed by some already full of himself Engineer?....even this John Walker guy says its the bomb, he seems to know what he's talking about" but then again, I mean, "I'm only gonna use it a couple of times, right?"...."Its not like I'm gonna get addicted to working on these dumb little cars, and these wacky air cooled engines right?"......"I've already got this cute little factory one it should last for the one valve adjustment I'll ever need"

O.K. .......I'm a man and can admit it when I make a mistake or miss the boat on something......

Island, I'm sorry I doubted your immense engineering skills. I'll be a man and admit it, even Engineers can do something useful once in a while....... P.S. Sign me up for one if you make a new batch...

Thanks

I think we're still waiting on Island to have a bunch more made?

I'm looking at this simple, well made, practical tool thinking that very soon it will be time for my first valve adjustment on the 911. Then it dawns on me, somewhere up in the attic in an old cookie tin from my "college days" is similar "device"

jgporsche 05-27-2004 06:49 AM

I'll take one when avalible, also.
