Damn, those wings and onion rings were tasty tonight. The mini cheeseburgers for dessert were delectable. 'Nother Harp, please.

1985 Plymouth Colt was my daily driver. It had no a/c, torn seats, peeling paint, and used a pint of oil a week--but never left me stranded.

I tried to sell it for $500 and people were trying to haggle down the price. Finally sold it for fifty bucks.

Now that I have my 911, I realize life is to short to drive beaters.

I vow to own some type of 911 for the rest of my life.

Letterman was doing a bit on how bands get their names. He had these wood dice with words on them. On one of the rolls "stomach" and "monkey" came up.

Dave launcehd into a bit about some Mexican food that he'd eaten that gave him the stomachmonkeys.

It was late, I was tired and thought it was the funniest thing I'd heard.

On a whim I checked on the domain and it was available so I registered it.

Fishcop 05-14-2005 04:31 PM

Fishcop... I was a fisheries investigator 5 years ago when I signed up - now I'm better described as Envirocop as my boundaries don't stop at the brine anymore :) Used to be a "real" cop 'till I realised I didn't like people all that much (I'm much better now :D )

86 911 05-14-2005 04:37 PM

When I bought the 911, the advertisement on autotrader read "1986 911". After I boutght it, I registered on this site and called myself "86 911". Soon afterwards I found out the car was a 1976 911 cabriolet and turbo look conversion with a 1979 engine, since I knew absoulutely nothing about 911's when I bought it. A bit of a surprise, but now that I know most of the car, it is a great looking, fast, and reliable car, and I'm happy with that! :D

singpilot 05-14-2005 05:11 PM

No, I don't sing. I was based in Singapore in 1994 when AOL was started. I registered there as that, and it stuck.

I fly for a living.

ausgezeichnet 05-14-2005 05:12 PM

From my cays of commuting to work and exploring the SF Bay area on my late (1992-1996, sold) 1986 Yamaha FZ750. 140+ mph (Dumbarton Bridge, baaaby), 5 valves per cylinder, six speed, very kewl, and fast enough for yours truly on a motorcycle, thank you very much.

The exhaust system on this bike was Jet-Hot coated inside and out, including the muffler internals.:D

I had a question and had to think of a name to register. Usually I come up with something very, very creative, like my initials. Then I remembered a 914 magazine ad from about 25 years ago. Lo and behold they never really quit using the slogan.

Wrecked944 05-14-2005 05:42 PM

I secretly wanted everyone to know my real name.

Oh Haha 05-14-2005 05:43 PM

Alright, I'll bite.
Mine comes from an old Budwieser commercial with Frank and Louie, the lizards. I was going through my divorce at the time that my best friend and his wife had their first child, Ally. Over the next two years or so. I spent a lot of time with them as I was single. WHen I set my goal on a 911, it was about the time a Bud commercial was on alot. I used to tease Ally by saying Oh, Ha Ha! I told her that when I got my 911 like her Daddy's, I would get a plate that said OH HAHA. I got the car and the plate.
I have since changed the plate to "Porscha" as a customer of mine told me that he thought people might take it the wrong way and think I was being conceited. I thought about it and felt that Pcar owners are sometimes thought of that way. I didn't want to be portrayed in that way. I know, who cares what other people think and all that. I generally don't but I like my new plate better. Ally thinks its cool, too.;)

Oracle 05-14-2005 05:43 PM

When I registered in PP I couldn't think of a cool user name but I had a box of Oracle software next to the monitor and thats what I used.. Now I kind of dislike it because I'm the opposite to an Oracle... more like ignorance ;-) Or I could have used Jasper but that name is really boring..

Stophos 05-14-2005 06:02 PM

Nicknamed by a friend who thought I was a magician - The Great Christophos. Then shortened to Stophos Kikrilos as my phoney internet name for software and other companies that didn't need to know the real me.
Now just Stophos and used it so much I'm stuck with it.

drums 05-14-2005 06:06 PM

Funny.... I was thinking of this thread the other day. I must have had about 300 posts when I put this thread up.

I had to see who resurrected it. :D

Yes, you can change your user name, I did. Email Wayne.
